Abnormal Psychology could not have been written a decade ago. The collaborative effort of a clinical psychologist (Rosenberg) and a cognitive neuroscientist (Kosslyn) provides students with a fascinating, progressive, and modern view of how psychopathology is studied, understood, experienced, and treated today.
Like no other text, it integrates the next generation of the biopsychosocial approach by including what we have learned about the brain and its role in psychological disorders. This new neuropsychological approach shows the dynamic interplay between the neurological, psychological, and social factors involved in understanding psychological disorders and their treatment. Equally important, Rosenberg and Kosslyn include captivating clinical material that puts a human face on psychological disorders. The text includes page after page of riveting case studies, examples, quotes, and critical thinking exercises.
By combining the neuropsychosocial approach with rich clinical material, students are provided with the “big picture” of abnormal psychology so they can understand and remember it, and apply it to the world around them.

Abnormal Psychology Robin Rosenberg Stephen Kosslyn Books
I think this is one of the best on the subject of mental illness. Detailed, interesting, instructive, and simple enough to understand. I particularly like the approach the authors take, especially in upgrading a consideration of mental illness from the bio-psychosocial model to the nuero-psychosocial model instead. The idea of nueral feedback gaps as explanatory for mental illness is virtually revolutionary in terms of how it is framed in the text. I recommend this text to all who are studying psychopathology and practise in the field.Product details

Abnormal Psychology Robin Rosenberg Stephen Kosslyn Books Reviews
A readable, detailed review of basic psychopathology. Diagnostic information is based on DSM-IV, so it does not cover any of the newest DSM 5 diagnostic criteria.
good
Thank you.
This textbook is very readable, something I appreciated since my course was an online course without a lecture component.
Good condition when it arrived and worked well for the semester.
This textbook.. I love it. I actually read it when the professor assigned the chapters. It is well written and the layout is clean. I am keeping this book. Best PSYC textbook I have ever read.
This book was used as a reference for a course in Abnormal Psychology. It was okay to use for DSM 4 TR, however, I would not use it for DSM 5. The presentation is very dated. It starts of by explaining normality using Kennedy's relatives. If you require computer support materials, the publisher has plenty of these. Otherwise it is an update of Abnormal Psychology textbooks from earlier days. I did not like the page numbering or graphics that much. The pages have a lot of wasted space.
